"France Cadet invests sexuality with a sense of humour and an enjoyment of the game which has annihilated rational interpretations of a territory that will always be beyond the discourse.”
Pedro Morais, Ventilo

Gaude Mihi, technological toy: your intelligent robot generate its own fun!

The rocking robot Gaude Mihi (literally "amuse me" or "please me") is becoming your new small high-tech companion. It rocks to and fro as you approach but it is only his fun that matters, no longer yours. Your toy thus becomes a player and experiments with its own pleasure. It is one of the embodiments of the France Cadet’ favorite character, the robot dog, found in most of her works. She customizes and reprograms it with unusual behavior. The master is not the one you think. Robots assert their presence in our society and are determined to experiment with your social activities and pleasures!

The work of France Cadet has recently been exhibited across the world:
In Tokyo, at Ars Electronica, in Lille, at ARCO 04, at the Roger Pailhas Gallery, at La Villette, at the Palais de Tokyo …
Her creations received awards at VIDA 6.0, an International competition on Art & Artificial Life, the Digital Awards 2004 in Tokyo, and have been purchased by the Museum of Badajoz in Spain (MEIAC).

Sensuality and an innovative precision to serve the future

Born in 1971, France Cadet is a French artist whose work deals with a reflection on the limits of science: the danger of potential accidents, animal or human behavioral study, the artificialisation of life, the deleterious effects of cloning, animal experimentation or eugenics. A teacher at the Art of Aix-en-Provence Art School, she first studied science before turning to art studies. Her multimedia installations benefit from her dual expertise. By daring to explore robotics and our fears of new technologies, France Cadet creates unique, sensual, funny, sometimes disturbing works whose ways of operating are always puzzling: toys, video games, pets, robots…
