ART IN THE CONNECTED CITY

What if digital arts reinvented the city? Such is the theme of the 7th edition of Les Bains numériques in Enghien-les- Bains, on June 13-14.
It’s also the ambition of the very first International Digital Arts Biennial (BIAN) in Montréal, from April 18 to June 13. Exploring the theme of Phenomena, it references the quote by the science-fiction author Arthur C. Clarke: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

For us, the magicians are the artists who enchant the city. Featured in this spring issue are 1024 Architecture, mapping professionals of urban surfaces, Edwin van der Heide and his spatial extrapolations, Adelin Schweitzer’s augmented reality, Samuel Bianchini’s intelligent furniture, Robert Stadler’s design, Mathieu Lehanneur’s sky blue in Tomorrow is another day...

Digitalarti pursues its online activity with a redesigned website (and Média/Magazine section) to launch before summer, while new iPhone, iPad and Android apps are already available to download for free.
We also invite you to join us at Futur en Seine, which takes place at Le Cent Quatre in Paris on June 14-17, where you can check out a new prototype designed by Pascal Bauer and produced by Digitalarti, works by artists in residence at our Art Lab held off-site for the occasion and, of course, our evening dedicated to new audiovisual writing on June 14.
