Tactile Sensations is a dance performance questioning both touch and vision set in an interactive musical and luminous environment where the augmented bodies of two dancers meet. Its light format makes it easy for the performance to be presented in non-conventional spaces - indoors or outdoors. The scenography (reactive costumes and sensitive circular dance floor) can easily be installed on any given flat surface.

Euro regional platform: hybrid forms of dance and digital arts

CorpusMedia is a Euro-regional platform for the networking of contemporary digital performance focusing on choreographic composition and the development of digital tools for performance making. Created in 2007 in the Euro-region of the Catalonia, Midi-Pyrénées and Languedoc-Roussillon, the platform is dedicated to artistic-scientific research, outreach, and touring of artistic productions with the objective of opening the access to contemporary digital performance culture within the region.

In 2011, the platform made of the company K. Danse (Toulouse), the collective Erre que erre (Barcelona), the company Yann Lheureux (Montpellier) and Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma (Mallorca, balearic Islands), organises four specific events in different cities and spaces of the connected regions.

 

 Program:

Event in Toulouse, in collaboration with Lieu Commun (center for contemporary art) and in Villeneuve-Tolosane (Theater Marcel Pagnol). Performances, videos, workshops, etc.

In collaboration with the first euro regional market for live performance Lo Festenal

Echo Room

Echo Room questions the domination of the other and the structure of relationships between men and women.  The choreography draws on the dialectics of the body which is inherited and socially constructed on the one hand, and lived and free to make choices on the other. The uncontrollable is juxtaposed with the controlled and imposes itself like an echo of the past.

Echo Room deals with the simultaneous perception of various states of one given reality embodied in a man-woman relationship through the use of physiological sensors. It questions the relationship between movement, physiology and psychological structures through a danced duo to be experienced by the audience in three spaces.  Each space emphasizes either the live dance; the physiological reactions-interactions of the dancers through sound, shape and colour; or the mental space of the dancers through reactive sound and video. This is achieved by treating information collected by sensors attached to the dancers which measure their physiological reactions: muscular tension, breathing, and heartbeat which allows for another real-symbolic-past-future space/time interpretation of the dance that we see unfolding before us.

In the site specific version the audience is invited to circulate in three separate spaces, inside of a given location. In the stage version the audience can experience the three spaces simultaneously either in the house or around the dancers on the stage itself as images and sound are projected on screens suspended on stage and on the walls of the house.

Jean-Marc Matos et Anne Holst, chorégraphes et fondateurs de la compagnie K. Danse est porteuse de la plate forme euro régionale CorpusMedia (Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, Catalogne), www.corpusmedia.eu , en préfiguration de la création, sur Toulouse, d’un pôle « Art-Science-Danse ». Elle est membre fondateur du réseau RAN.
