Dear all,
hoping it might be of interest, I'm writing to forward the info related to the Xth Sense (XS) Summer Workshops.
The XS is a free and open biophysical technology.
It was recently named the "world's most innovative new musical instrument" by the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology (US).

Sitan & Tad: Rock-Art2noise / Tübingen summer 2011
Two French artists, Sitan Adele K and Tad Bisaha have chosen the crowdfunding with the French platform Mutuzz to organise an artistic residency followed by three concerts in the strongroom of Kunstamt in Tübingen (Germany) from the 16th to 18th March.
The concerts are open for ten persons by session only
but you can subscribe (250 persons) to share this experience since your own
computer.

On the borders between sound and visual installation, action painting and mixed music,
Rock-Art2noise convenes the transdisciplinary by transforming the pictorial gesture into a sound and musical flow.
The artist paints on a windscreen placing horizontally (her canvas).
The glass receives the visual 'traces' and transmits in Pure Data their sound phenomenon (stains), dedicated to all
the possible declenasions of the digital audio signal processing.
This work of ephemeral composition tries to develop a musical form
from a non-instrumental gesture executed and filtered in real-time.

The Xth Sense is a low cost, Open Source-based framework for the application of muscle sounds to the biophysical generation and control of music (or more generally for responsive milieux).
The framework includes a low cost biosensing wearable device, and a modular DSP software (Pure Data-based) for real time capture, analysis and design with muscle sounds.

On 18th May at 19.30 at Huset i Magstræde, Copenhagen, Denmark, Re-New Digital Arts Festival kicks off prensenting 'High Spheres' a participative multi-channel concert for found objects and reactive generative music by Edinburgh based new media artist Marco Donnarumma.
The action takes place open air. No musical instruments are provided, but stones and leaves. Audience can use six microphones and a 6.1 surround system to amplify any kind of sound they wish to produce.
