Episode 1 (2007-2009) was based on a series of remote live streamed sessions and sound file exchanges between players that were composed and released on CD (AVATAR/Ohm) in August 2009. (http://www.lenomdelachose.org/vacuohm/ and distribution in France by Metamkine, http://www.metamkine.com/)
This new episode will take the form of a live network performance. The performers, each based in different areas of the world, will improvise live, according to a loosely defined score that team have been developing. As the performance unfolds the listener discovers a multitude of possible stories and un-imaginable exchanges.
Episode 2 will be online played and relayed by EBU/DeutschlandRadio Kultur for satellite broadcast & multiple events with audience on January the 17th. A 52mn-version will be produced and broadcast on DeutschlandRadio Kultur on January, 22.

NMSAT, Networked Music & SoundArt Timeline :
A Panoramic View of Practices and Techniques Related to Sound Transmission and Distance Listening
(Jérôme Joy & Peter Sinclair)
http://locusonus.org/nmsat/
Two papers related to the presentation of NMSAT developed by Locus Sonus are published in the new issue of Contemporary Music Review :
- NMSAT, project presentation - a pool of information
- NMSAT, excerpts of the ongoing database
The NMSAT is a research project led and initiated in 2008 by Jerome Joy within the Locus Sonus lab. It is conceived as a monitor and a
pool of informations on history of networked music and sound. It aims to provide an overview of practices and techniques in the realm of networked music (telemusic) and networked sonic performance from ancient history to the present (2008), related to sound transmission and distance listening. It consists of a collection of references from various online and bibliographical documents, articles, workshop notes and so on. Currently this database comprises more than 1400 pages with around 3000 entries. The NMSAT illustrates the historical and theoretical context of networked music and soundart, and more largely of network art.

nocinema.org will be showed at Tokyo Wonder Site (Institute of Contemporary Arts and International Cultural Exchange) in Tokyo during the "reference show" Double Vision exhibition between January the 22nd to 31st, in collaboration with the Musashino University.
On January the 7th, I will do a presentation of the nocinema project with Christophe Charles (video-conference), followed by a networked performance with Christophe Charles, Taniguchi Akihiko and me.
Nocinema.org draws upon a string of live webcams across the world, transmitting live scenes collected from different locations. While
the image is slightly manipulated, thus recalling a cinematic camera shot, the sound compositions by various artists foster the hypnotic character of the piece.
